Afrofuturism: For Hair that is Timeless

    I'm Lisa Pettway the proud owner of Natural Divinity Products Hair Care for the Soul. Welcome to my blogspot! Tonight's blog topic is Afrofuturism: For Hair that is Timeless. Since the year 2020 the future has been heavy on my mind. I notice the changes from electric cars to AI to biotechnological advancements in health and learning. We all know change is inevitable and is bound to happen. We simply do not know how we play a major part in technology advancement. 






    Afrofuturism is very dear to me, because I believe most Black people see themselves in the future. This belief in return creates a clear canvas for Black people to envision their wildest creative dreams. Today in 2024 we see Afroturism in Facebook Reels, TikToks, Live Streaming, and more. On TikTok I recommend watching Ava Marie who is the Afro Goddess that changes her hair into different shapes that look out of this world! I am loving the Afrofuturistic hair movement, because it gives a new appreciation and self love for our hair. AI art as pictured has also been used to show Afrofuturistic hair. Afrofuturistic hair is shown in so many hair textures and types. No one is left out. Afrofuturistic hairstyles use different colors, geometric parts, and add bohemian hair accessories to create new style. Over the next years we will see this and it will be very popular around the world. 




I believe Black people see themselves and their offspring in the coming future. The world is big enough for us all. Allow us to continue to roam with style and grace. Know that our hair is TIMELESS.

  Hey Curlies,✨ I hope you all have been hanging in there. We are now in the 2nd quarter of 2025. I am hoping 2025 continues to be good for all of us. Spring is officially here! I am getting used to warmer days even though my allergies are unpredictable. When I think of spring time I think of the return of life!   Hey Curlies,✨ I hope you all had a productive week. This week is very steady for me and challenging with ongoing demands. This week's blog post I wanted to talk about technology and mental health. I know there are so many articles about how bad technology is for your mental health. I want to talk about the good and bad. Since my Facebook account was hacked in 2023 I have had less Facebook friends. It has also been nearly impossible to keep track of old clients. This has left a little hardship on me as a business owner and my personal life. The good I have noticed is I have lessen some of my death scrolling and internet use.
